Romania Trip Log, Day 2, June 11 - After a buffet breakfast at the Inn, on the road again, headed west to the city of Sighisoara,
dominated by the Citadel on a high hill overlooking the rest of the city. We parked below, and walked up. A covered wooded stairway of 172 steps
led up to the Citadel entry, thru a couple stone archways, on cobblestone streets, and into the Citadel area proper, consisting of many winding streets.
The dominant structure is the Clock Tower which is most impressive (I did not climb to the top), a large church (closed), and the birthplace
(house) where Vlad the Impaler (Count Dracula) was born. After coffee at a terrace café, we began our first cache event. Peter is an expert at caching.
Using his GPS unit, we began our search along the upper wall of the Citadel, but had to descend to the bottom of the wall (walkway) and looked
without success at first. Finally I found a loose stone in the wall, and there it was, a small black plastic 35 mm film canister with a tiny note pad
and pencil inside to record having found it. (I was not so lucky with later searches.) Back to the car.
