Moanei Cave (Pestera Moanei) - Padurea Craiului Mountains (58 photos)
The Moanei Cave is located on the upper course of the Misid River, on the right side of the Misid Gorge (Cheilor Misidului). The cave has two entrances, one fossil and sloped, while a subterranean stream flows through the active gallery.
Stalactite Cave - Round Chair Hill, Borsec, Giurgeu Mountains (24 photos)
The Stalactite Cave on the Round Chair Hill is the longest cave formed in travertine in the country. Its formation was mainly influenced by an open system of diaclases, which fragmented the travertine, with the contribution of infiltrated rainwater being essential in the transport and dissolution of limestone.
Sugo Cave - Giurgeu Mountains (60 photos)
The Sugó Cave is located at the western foot of Sipos Stone (1566 m) at an altitude of 1064 m above sea level. It consists of a system of passages with four levels, totaling 1021 m in length and a level difference of -60 m.
Cave of Winds (Pestera Vantului) - Padurea Craiului Mountains (24 photos)
The Cave of Winds is located in the Padurea Craiului Mountains, not far from Frantura meadow, near Suncuius, on the left geographical side of the Crisul Repede River. The Cave of Winds was discovered in 1957 by Béla Bagaméri and is currently (as of 2003) the longest cave system known in Romania as well as in the Carpathian Basin.
Bears' cave, Ice Grotto - Borsec (12 photos)
The Bears' cave is actually a deep rock fissure with a path leading into it. Local belief long considered it to be the habitat of bears, which is where the name comes from.
Women's Cave (Pestera Muierii) - Parang Mountains (11 photos)
The Cave of Women (Pestera Muierii, Pestera Muierilor) is located at the southern foot of the Parang Mountains, in the area of Baia de Fier in Gorj County. There are several climbing routes established on the rocks above the cave and on the other side of the road.

Crystal Cave at Farcu MineIn the Padurea Craiului Mountains, near Rosia, in the Farcu bauxite mine, in 1987, the miners accidentally discovered a cave. It was filled with crystal-shaped limestone formations.
Vadu Crisului caveThe Vadu Crisului Cave, with a total length of over 1000 meters, is located in the picturesque gorge of Crisul Repede creek. It consists of a gently meandering, long passage that features an active, stream level next to an upper, fossil level in its first section.
Prohodna cave (The Eyes of God) - KarlukovoThe cave nicknamed The Eyes of God is located in Bulgaria, in the Iskar Gorge, on one of the largest karst areas in Bulgaria, 2 km from the town of Karlukovo. It is essentially a 262-meter-long natural stone bridge, with a large (45 m high) and a small (35 m high) entrance.
