Stalactite Cave - Round Chair Hill, Borsec, Giurgeu Mountains (24 photos)
The Stalactite Cave on the Round Chair Hill is the longest cave formed in travertine in the country. Its formation was mainly influenced by an open system of diaclases, which fragmented the travertine, with the contribution of infiltrated rainwater being essential in the transport and dissolution of limestone.
The home of the mermaid - Primorsko (6 photos)
A human-sized mermaid statue, weighing 800 kg, is lying on the seabed. It is located near the Small Crocodile Islet, south of the underwater chapel, at a depth of 12 meters next to a vertical cliff.
Boli Cave - Banita (20 photos)
The main cave passage is approximately 460 m long, with an entrance portal that is 10 m high and 20 m wide at its base. In the 1960s, bridges were built over the underground stream flowing through the cave.

The Bears' cave is actually a deep rock fissure with a path leading into it. Local belief long considered it to be the habitat of bears, which is where the name comes from.

The Moanei Cave (Pestera Moanei) is located on the upper course of the Misid River, on the right side of the Misid Gorge (Cheilor Misidului). The cave has two entrances, one fossil and sloped, while a subterranean stream flows through the active gallery.

Vadu Crisului cave
The Vadu Crisului Cave, with a total length of over 1000 meters, is located in the picturesque gorge of Crisul Repede creek. It consists of a gently meandering, long passage that features an active, stream level next to an upper, fossil level in its first section.
The Cave of Thieves - Apata
The Cave of Thieves (Pestera Hotilor, Tolvajos), located in the Olt Gorge at Racos, is situated at the source of the Tepeu creek. From the karst spring that emerges from the cave, one of the branches of the creek originates.
Mammoth Cave - Dachstein Salzkammergut, Obertraun am Hallstättersee
The first station of the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car, which starts in Obertraun, in the southern part of Lake Hallstatt, is Schönbergalm. Here you can find the Giant Ice Cave (Rieseneishöhle) and the Mammoth Cave (Mammuthöhle).
Gods bridge - Vratsa
Anyone who has been to Bulgaria may be familiar with the Prohodna Cave, affectionately known as the Eyes of God; the Devetashka Cave, illuminated by seven windows in its ceiling. And perhaps they have also seen the Wonderful Bridges in the Rhodope Mountains.
Vulva cave - Rhodope Mountains
The Vulva Cave (Peshtera Utroba) is situated near the village of Nenkovo and the city of Kardzhali, in the Rhodope Mountains of Bulgaria. It derives its name from the shape of its entrance, which resembles a vulva.
Saeva Dupka cave - Brestnitsa
The Saeva Dupka Cave is located 2 km south of the village of Brestnitsa. In its five chambers and 400 meters of passageways, you can see the most beautiful cave formations in Bulgaria.
Tapolca lake cave - Balaton-felvidéki National Park
The Tapolca lake cave is situated in the Balaton-felvidéki National Park. A modern visitor center has been constructed at its entrance, featuring ten rooms that highlight the unique characteristics of karst regions.
Crystal Cave at Farcu Mine
In the Padurea Craiului Mountains, near Rosia, in the Farcu bauxite mine, in 1987, the miners accidentally discovered a cave. It was filled with crystal-shaped limestone formations.
Boli Cave - Banita
The Boli Cave is located 6 km north of Petrosani, on the road that connects Hateg with the Jiu Valley. Here, the railway line that connects the two parts of Hunedoara County passes through, featuring a total of 66 curves and 8 tunnels.
Giant Ice Cave - Dachstein Salzkammergut, Obertraun am Hallstättersee
The second cave accessible to the public at the Schönbergalm above Obertraun on Lake Hallstatt is the Giant Ice Cave (Rieseneishöhle). For me, it was more spectacular than the Mammoth Cave.
Muierii Cave - Baia de Fier
We visited the Baia de Fier area, and climbed on the rock that also conceals the Women's Cave (Pestera Muierilor). Between two via ferrata routes, we also participated in one of the guided cave tours, which depart every hour.
Prohodna cave - Karlukovo
The Prohodna cave nicknamed The Eyes of God is located in Bulgaria, in the Iskar Gorge, on one of the largest karst areas in Bulgaria, 2 km from the town of Karlukovo. It is essentially a 262-meter-long natural stone bridge, with a large (45 m high) and a small (35 m high) entrance.
Devetashka cave - Devetaki
The Devetashka Cave is located in Bulgaria, near the village of Devetaki. After the entrance portal, which measures 30 m by 35 m, there is a vast open chamber that is 110 meters wide and 359 meters long.

Iskar gorge Lyutibrod - Temnata dupka cave Lakatnik
The Iskar is the longest purely Bulgarian river, the oldest river in the Balkans, and a right tributary of the Danube. The river is 368 km long, with approximately 150 km consisting of a gorge.
Meziad cave - Padurea Craiului Mountains
The Meziad Cave is located near the village of Meziad, 22 km north of Beius, in the Padurea Craiului Mountains. It is one of our first tourist caves, its exploration is associated with the name of Gyula Czárán, cave researcher and writer.
