Backtracking west a couple miles, we turned north on Hiway 13, then right on 13A headed for the city of Sovata. On the way we passed thru the
village of Fantinele which features a sunken church. Apparently after being built, over time the whole church settled into the ground,
leaving only a meter (39 inches) entryway into the building. Everyone who enters must bow down, not a bad idea of entering a church anyhow.
We did not stop to view it up close. Arriving at the city of Sovata we parked at a Spa Hotel, and walked down to see the salt lake, Bear Lake
(Lacul Ursu), another salt-water lake spa. Before beginning our walk around the lake, we stopped at a food shack and had a cheese pie
(round yeast dough like a small pizza, deep fried, and then topped with sour cream and grated cheese). We walked around the lake,
saw several bathers floating without rafts, took some pictures, also a shot of Peter and Ed to post on the internet (Peter wearing the Ozark Trail
cap and OT June 2nd Workday T-shirt I brought for him). After the lake, Peter went back up to bring the car, Ed had a cold Fanta.
