Buzludzha is a historically significant mountain located in the Central Balkan Mountains of Bulgaria. At its summit, at an altitude of 1432 meters above sea level, there is an abandoned monument. In 1868, a battle took place here between the Bulgarians and the Turks. The Bulgarian socialist movement began here in 1891. In memory of this, construction of the brutalist-style monument started in 1974.
