Natural bridge next to the Banita Stone Quarry (13th September 2015 - 12 photos) 38.27 km away
Although the Banita Stone Bridge is not far from the road that passes through the village, it is located beyond the railway line, so its approach is a bit cumbersome. We can go around the railway line on Carierei Street, and then we have to walk a few meters from the stone quarry.

The most unique ridge trail of the Retezat Mountains is the Closed Gates.
Sheepdogs - Govora sheepfold - Retezat mountains 20.46 km away
On the second day of my weekend Retezat hike, I visited a sheepfold on the Lancita Ridge. To my great disappointment, they didn't make cheese or curd here. The owners sell the more special types of sheep and rams in the autumn.
Crivadia Gorges 33.84 km away
The Crivadia Gorge is located next to the village of Crivadia, which belongs to Banita. Access is difficult, and the hike is made through the streambed, with water up to the waist at its narrowest point.
Banita Gorges and Banita rock bridge 41.92 km away
They say about this place that only very few people know about it, but that's not true. In fact, most nature lovers have heard of it, seen pictures taken here, even if not everyone has been able to come here. Since it has been talked about everywhere, and it has been advertised, I have also been planning to come here for years.
Bolii Cave - Banita 42.43 km away
The Bolii Cave is located 6 km north of Petrosani, on the road that connects Hateg with the Jiu Valley. Here, the railway line that connects the two parts of Hunedoara County passes through, featuring a total of 66 curves and 8 tunnels.

Via ferrata Ernesto Che Guevara Italia 919.13 km away
The Che Guevara via ferrata is the longest iron climbing route I have ever climbed. There is a 1400 m level difference from the starting point to the peak of Monte Casale.
Iron path in winter Harghita Madaras 239.09 km away
This is already the sixth time I've climbed the via ferrata route set up on the rocky cliffs of Seii Peak near Harghita Madaras. Although the forecast suggests that the weather should be nice, I am greeted by a sky covered in clouds.
Varghis gorges in winter 227.74 km away
I went out to admire the ice stalagmites (standing icicles) in the Varghis Gorge. Anyone arriving here at the end of winter can observe meter-high ice stalagmites in the entrance area of Meresti Cave (now known as Orban Balazs Cave).
Wild Ferenc iron path Suhardul Mic 272.31 km away
While I climbed the new iron path mostly in the dark for the first time, this time I managed to explore it during the day. But I still missed the sunset by a few minutes.
The Bear's Jump iron path Baia de Fier 84.19 km away
The Bear's Jump (in Romanian, Saritoarea Ursului) is a fantasy-named via ferrata that opened in May 2018 near Baia de Fier, alongside the Middle Spiral (in Romanian, Spirala Medie). Both routes begin from the G zone of the rock face that conceals the Muierilor Cave.

Hili cove iron path Turda Gorges 135.68 km away
While the first time I climbed this via ferrata in the morning, now I climbed it in the light of the setting sun. The red-dressed rocks created a special atmosphere, and I could admire the sunset from the top of the climbing route. Although I prefer the sunrise more, because it lasts longer. :-)
Hias Klettersteig Silberkarklamm, Ramsau am Dachstein 725.83 km away
The Hias Klettersteig in the Silberkarklamm gorge is the first of the three via ferrata routes, and perhaps the easiest to complete. Two cable bridges and a few trickier sections make it interesting, but it is truly impressive due to the view of the narrow gorge.
Aareschlucht Meiringen-Innertkirchen, Switzerland 1128.88 km away
The Aareschlucht is a 1400-meter long, 200-meter deep gorge of the Aare river, near Innertkirchen, Switzerland. It has two entrances, one from Meiringen in the west, and one from Innertkirchen in the east, which lead into the narrow, but stunning gorge.
Giant fir trees Ghimes 273.74 km away
One of the lesser-known attractions of Ghimes is the two giant-sized common fir trees. They are 42 meters tall, and have diameters of 110 cm and 130 cm at chest height. Their estimated age is 200-250 years.
