Fairy Cliff iron path - Vadu Crisului - videoPlay
In Vadu Crisului, in the Padurea Craiului Mountains, on the right bank of the Crisul Repede, you can find the newest, in chronological order the fifth Transylvanian, new type of via ferrata route. I will not count here the traditional iron paths, the high-mountain hiking trails, partly secured with iron cables, or the rock canyons with iron ladders and footbridges.

It can be reached starting from the Vadu Crisului sports hall, on a path, and then along the rails. There is a parking lot in front of the sports hall. Since you have to walk on the rails for a short stretch, be very careful of trains. At least a dozen passed by, while I was climbing. Unfortunately, the area is quite littered, so don't be surprised, I have warned you.

The via ferrata built in the ravine of the Fairy Rock Wall is 150 m long, mostly vertical, and has a level difference of about 110 m. In my subjective opinion, the route is of difficulty level B, with short sections of C in the upper part.

The lookout point, above the exit of the climbing route, can also be reached on the hiking trail marked with a blue dot. After climbing, we can return to the sports hall via this trail. The cable sections may be a bit too loose in some places. There is a lot of debris and rocks on the path, so be careful not to hit those climbing below you.

The route is one-way, it must be climbed from bottom to top. We would like to thank the mountain rescuers of Bihor County, István Pintér Koroknai, for building this via ferrata route.

While the first time I climbed this via ferrata in the morning, now I climbed it in the light of the setting sun. The red-dressed rocks created a special atmosphere, and I could admire the sunset from the top of the climbing route. Although I prefer the sunrise more, because it lasts longer. :-)
