Stan Valley CanyonThe Stan Valley is located near Lake Vidraru, southwest of it, in the Fruntii Mountains. Those who have visited the Seven Ladders Waterfall will appreciate this canyon, outfitted with infrastructure for tourist accessibility.
Fairy Cliff (Peretele Zanelor) via ferrata route - Vadu CrisuluiIn Vadu Crisului, in the Padurea Craiului Mountains, on the right bank of the Crisul Repede, you can find the newest, in chronological order (2015) the fifth Transylvanian, new type of via ferrata route. I will not count here the traditional iron paths, the high-mountain hiking trails, partly secured with iron cables, or the rock canyons with iron ladders and footbridges.
Lednica iron path - BrestnitsaThe Lednica via ferrata is located next to the Saeva Dupka Cave, near the village of Brestnitsa in Bulgaria. The trail leading to the via ferrata, which opened in 2007, starts from the cave parking lot next to a covered resting area.
Stan Valley Canyon in winterThe Stan Valley is a picturesque canyon, even in winter. In fact, when the stream is frozen and covered with a layer of snow, exploring the canyon becomes much quicker and easier.
Kaiserschild Klettersteig - Eisenerzer RamsauThe 2,085-meter-high Kaiserschild peak is situated on the northern edge of the Eisenerz Alps in Styria, Austria. It forms a double summit with the slightly taller Hochkogel peak, which stands at 2,105 meters.
Siega via ferrata - Silberkar Gorge, Ramsau am DachsteinThe Siega via ferrata, categorized as a C/D level of difficulty, is perhaps the least interesting of the three via ferrata routes in the Silberkar Gorge (Silberkarklamm). This doesn't mean that it's not good, just that the other two are even better.
Small Via ferrata - Rasnoavei GorgeIn the past few days, it has snowed, so I climbed the two climbing routes in the Rasnoavei Gorge under winter conditions. While the lower part of the challenging Big via ferrata was dry, the upper section had patches of snow and icicles.
Via ferrata Rio Sallagoni - Drena, ItaliaThe surrounding iron climbing routes are located on rock walls exposed to a scorching sun. But the Rio Sallagoni via ferrata goes upwards in a pleasantly cool gorge, above the creek and waterfalls, and eventually reaches the Drena Castle.
