North of Primorsko, along the rocky coastline of the Black Sea, there are stunning cliffs and several rocky outcrops emerging from the water. Due to their unique shapes, these formations have been whimsically named Crocodile Rocks.
Thracian Fortress Ranuli, Lions Head Rock (40 photos)
Thracian Fortress Ranuli (Valchan's fortress) and the Lion's Head Rock. On Copper Ridge (Meden Rid), overlooking the Ropotamo River, the Thracian miner tribe Skirmiani constructed a fortress.

Pricopanului ridge - Macin Mountains (61 photos)
Pricopanului ridge is the secondary, but imposing ridge of Macin Mountains, characterized by huge granite formations, lofty rocks and wide sceneries all around. The landscape, as well as the relief is of mountain type, and even if the height of the ridge is apparently small, the ascending effort is slighty sustained.

The Kanin Mountains are located in the Western Julian Alps, on the border of Slovenia and Italy. The highest peak in this range, known as (High) Kanin or Monte Canin Alto, in Slovenian and Italian respectively, reaches a height of 2,587 m above sea level.

The Old Women of Gurghiu (Babele Gurghiului) stone mushrooms, Batrana Peak (Varful Batrana). In the Gurghiu Mountains, 10 km from Toplita, near the peak Batrana, there are several groups of strange rocks.
Where the sea meets the rocks - Sinemorets (10 photos)
Just about 300 meters away from the southern end of the Lipite beach, the sea meets the rock in a strange way. The roles are reversed, above the relatively calm water the cliff curves out in the form of fossilized waves.

Byala Reka eco-trail - Kalofer
The Byala Reka eco-trail is situated at the foot of the Stara Planina mountain range, 8 km from the town of Kalofer. A 1,830-meter-long hiking trail has been established along the White Creek within the Central Balkan National Park.
Eagles Eye - Yagodina
Orlovo Oko (Eagle's Eye) is a lookout viewpoint located in the Rhodope Mountains, near the peak of Saint Ilia and close to the village of Yagodina, Bulgaria. The steel structure, built at an altitude of 1,563 meters, rises 670 meters above the spectacular Buynovsko Gorge, along with the winding river and road that traverse it.
Oltet Gorge - Capatana Mountains
Oltet Gorge (Cheile Oltetului) - Capatana Mountains. That day, we had planned to ski at the Ranca resort, situated alongside the Transalpina high altitude mountain road in the Parang Mountains.
Ladys Stones - Rarau Mountains
The Lady's Stones represent the heart, the mind, and the soul. The first two only help to understand the world when one possesses knowledge (they can be climbed with rock climbing gear), as emotions and thoughts (the two rock towers) obscure reality (the view).
Handeckfallbrücke, Gelmerbahn, Gelmersee - Schweiz
Although the path from the Gelmerbahn parking bypasses the Handeckfall waterfall, it is worth descending a few steps from the valley station of the funicular, to reach Handeckfallbrücke. A 70-meter long suspension bridge that hangs 70 meters above the gorge, offering a spectacular view of the waterfall.
With snowshoes in the Tihu creek valley - Rastolita
We met geotrekking treasure hunters from Gheorgheni, Miercurea Ciuc and Targu Mures in Rastolita. We entered the Calimani Mountains with an off-road vehicle, along the Rastolita and Tihu streams.

Rhein Gorge - Flims, Switzerland
The Rhine River (in German, Rhein) originates in the Swiss canton of Graubünden at the Oberalppass and flows into the North Sea at Rotterdam in the Netherlands after traveling 1,324 km. The Rhine Gorge, also known as the Swiss Grand Canyon (in Romansh, Ruinaulta), winds for 14 km between 350 m high white walls.
Stone Forest - Slanchevo
The Stone Forest (Stones stuck in the ground, Pobiti Kamani) of Bulgaria is located 18 km west of Varna, at the foothills of the Eastern Balkan Mountains. Its Bulgarian name, Pobiti Kamani, translates to planted stones, and it is referred to in English as the Stone Desert or Stone Forest.

On the second day of my weekend Retezat hike, I visited a sheepfold on the Lancita Ridge. To my great disappointment, they didn't make cheese or curd here.
Bovska Skaklya waterfall - Iskar gorge
The Bovska Skaklya waterfall is located near the town of Svoge in Bulgaria. The waterfall formed on the Zaselska River has several reported heights online (120 m, 85 m).
Preachers Rock - Bodoc Mountains
In the Bodoc Mountains, west-southwest from the Henter peak, we find a rock formation shaped like a mushroom by erosion, called Preacher's Rock. This 2-meter high rock probably got its name from the pagan Hungarian priests, who preached here in the past.
Snow-covered valley of Balea and the Transfagarasan in winter - The ascent
The Fagarasi Mountains can be easily approached from the north, mainly by using the Transfagarasan Road. This high altitude mountain road is only accessible during the summer months (throughout its entire length).
Waterfalls of Velnita stone-quarry - Targu Ocna
Starting from the Velnita quarry, an adventurous nature enthusiast, accustomed to wild and rugged terrains, will discover a true waterfall paradise. At the upper part of the quarry, two streams converge.
